My name is Tony Rodriguez Larkin and I’ve been what people would call skinny-fat most of my life. What’s skinny-fat? Basically, I looked skinny with my shirt on because my limbs looked like sticks, but I had a fat belly underneath the protection of the shirt. I had ZERO confidence in high school because of this.
I played sports year-round and even went to the gym with my friends a few times every week, yet I still had the belly. I looked like a Potato Head! It wasn’t until college where I was forced to be part of team-lifting sessions twice-a-week that I started to see some changes. Our weight-training sessions were led by a certified strength coach. This was the first time in my life that I ever had coaching for my weight training and nutrition. A couple months into the program and I was absolutely hooked! I started to see my abs for the first time, I lost fat and gained muscle! Most importantly, my self confidence grew and I found my future profession (I was studying business at the time).
